My journey into Pilates started with a tennis injury; I had to stop playing for a while, and in discovering Pilates, I found a new strength that came from a deeper connection to my mind and body. I’d love to help you, too.

My principles of Pilates are breathing, control, concentration, centering, precision, flow, and alignment.

About Pilates

Pilates is a mind-body movement developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. It was initially called contrology as he used a system of exercises intending to strengthen the human mind and body, believing that mental and physical health were interrelated.

In today’s world, we have taken Joseph Pilates’ principles and added some contemporary moves.

So, if you’ve been looking for a new workout routine that can give you a good balance of flexibility, strength, muscle tone, and help with aches and pains, Pilates may be the answer. It might look a bit intimidating at first, but having the different apparatuses to work on is a fun way to find your core engagement.

In my studio, I have a Reformer, which utilizes the resistance of springs and straps to assist you in achieving deep core engagement. I have an Exo chair, which is another apparatus that utilizes spring resistance to assist in various ways.

I also have a Springboard. In Pilates, a springboard is a wall-mounted board with springs that offers resistance and support for various exercises. It's designed to be a versatile tool for building strength, improving flexibility, and enhancing coordination through a range of exercises done seated, standing, kneeling, or lying down.

Pilates is a low-impact exercise that emphasizes precise movements, controlled breathing, and muscle engagement, thereby enhancing muscle tone and stability. It can help decrease stress and increase flexibility safely.
